META had a WhatsApp Business Summit in India for the first time ever. It was on 12th September, 2024 in Mumbai. WhatsApp Business rolled out some updates favoring small businesses in India. This will create a really great in-chat experience for their customers and improve the performance in the upcoming days.

As per META’s update, it will be super easy for small businesses to get META verified on WhatsApp Business. WhatsApp Business Account of all eligible and authentic small businesses in India get verification badge by META. This will make it easier for SMEs to stand out and create trust amongst their audience.
2. Customized messages on WhatsApp Business App
META has introduced a new paid feature where businesses can send customized messages directly from WhatsApp Business App. Businesses can send personalized messages with customer names with customizable call-to-action buttons which can be scheduled as well. This will improve customer engagement and also make it more personalized for their businesses.

3. WhatsApp Bharat Yatra
WhatsApp Business will soon initiate WhtasApp Bharat Yatra where a team will travel to various tier 2 and 3 cities educating business owners on how to use WhatsApp Business and leverage it for growth.

In the WhatsApp Business Summit, they also discussed best practices a business must follow which will help them maintain good hygiene with the new updates in WhatsApp Business.

- Seek consent from the user before sending any kind of messages.
- Be extremely thoughtful about the kind of messages you are sending in your campaigns as well as be thoughtful of the timezones you are sending these messages.
- Use stats and analytics provided by WhatsApp business to take thoughtful decisions regarding WhatsApp marketing. This will help you in understanding your audience and segment your campaigns accordingly.
- Actively listen to your customers, seek feedback and give them what they are looking for. This will increase your engagement and overall performance.
